In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.
The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.
Those in the US who are eligible to vote, if you haven't already, please check your local polling station opening times in advance, so you know where and when to go to vote, and remember you can, in most states, ask for a provisional ballot at the polling station.
If you can, please DO vote! Watching from afar, I've never seen a US election which has felt as pivotal as this one.
The billionaire owners of the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times (Jeff Bezos and Patrick Soon-Shiong, respectively) blocked those paper's editorial endorsements of Harris, which has triggered multiple resignations of staff and, apparently many, MANY cancelled subscriptions.
If you have to ask who SD would endorse then, with all respect, I'm not sure you've been paying attention. The Democrats have issues and flaws to be sure, but the Republicans appear to want to dismantle basic democracy this time around.
On a lighter note, and I think we need one....
A Happy Hallowe'en to those who celebrate it... which I imagine is most of us, in some way or another. Might make a post on the day for that.
Star Trek: Lower Decks started it's, currently, final season, with a two episode drop. I'd missed these dorks so much!
I got around to watching Deadpool and Wolverine, which was more fun than I'd expected (I mean I liked the earlier ones, though I always thought 2 was a bit mean spirited to some fans with the X-Force bait and switch). There was a LOT going on, much of it probably incomprehensible to anyone who wasn't a major comic nerd, but it is nice to see a spandex superhero movie which isn't ashamed that it's source is a comic book.
Watching "Agatha All Along" I was reminded that A) Joe Locke looked unfeasibly good in the Maleficent outfit, and B) THIS is why you hire Patti Lupone to appear in things!
