In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using
the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing. The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.
And rarely has that been better advice after the past few days. I will only note, in passing, that in the UK, even the Daily Mail, our most Right Wing of Right Wing newspapers, came out
against Trump and Vance's public mugging of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. If you're a Right Wing politician and you've lost the support of the Daily Mail, you should REALLY reassess your life choices.
At the other end of the scale, and clinging to fantasy like grim death, we got the Oscars this past weekend, where most of the winners were movies I've still to see so can't really comment on. (I might feel a little miffed about "Wallace and Gromit" losing out, if every clip from "Flow" I'd seen hadn't been breathtakingly gorgeous)
Doctor Who Season 2 got a new trailer amid
confirmation that it did spectacularly well on Disney+ being in the top 5 programs globally during it's first run.The new sentai series Gozyuger gets stranger and stranger:
- Only one robot between them (they take it in turns to use it, customising it after their own theme, so only one of the team is in the cockpit at a time.
- The Monster of the Week doesn't grow, but a giant robot baddie shows up separately
- The actual team-members don't seem to like each other very much and are together more to keep an eye on each other rather than banding together together.
- Oh, and the new Prime Minister of Japan has weaponised popularity, and can turn into Don Momotaro when he wants to.
Toy Fair took place in New York,
with the usual lines represented, and
plenty of other things to bootAnd in that vein, the question of the week is: Your favourite toy as a child... heck, your favourite toy today even!
