Oh Tim, what's happened to you?

It seems these days that if you want to be a video game protagonist in a "hardcore" game, you got to shave your head. Galen Marek, Shephard, Cole McGrath, Issac Clarke, the list goes on.

The pic doesn't come in color, so there's no telling how it'll look, perhaps bright purple with baby blue trim.

What he's wearing doesn't even look like a costume, just a shirt, pants, boots, and a cloak.

On the bright side, he comes with a Red Robin skin, so there's definitely some hope. Unless he still has a buzzcut.

Huh. Well, that's practical, at least. I personally prefer longer hair, but it makes sense to wear it short in an action hero-y context.

I gotta say, Arkham Asylum Batman might be my least favorite version of Batman since Bat-Nipples Clooney look. I see that big, stiff, over-muscled abomination, and I think "yeah, there's no way he should be doing half the shit he does in this game"

This. I like the concept drawings for the characters by Carlos D'Anda - currently drawing the tie-in Arkham City series, and I think his designs for Joker, Harley and Batman really work nicely when translated to 3D, but the other designs are pretty ugly.

I don't mind Catwoman's look in AC too much, but she seems to be taking too many notes from DC's current direction and MK vs DC than the awesome, classy 60's styling her black-leather costume had under Cooke and Stewart.

Yeah, I really wonder when it was decided that her designated costume is to always have her cat-suit zipped down to reveal bountiful cleavage. It doesn't really bother me per se at this point, but...the Selina I know would have had Bruce chase her down across half of Gotham before she even started zipping her costume down.

Looks like they've redesigned the costume to fit more in line with Arkham Asylum/City's style. Not great, but I don't think it'll bug me enough to detract from how great the game will be.

I don't have a problem with the look to be honest, it's just another take on the Robin-costume, more practical(ish) than some, not as innately appealling as others.

The hair I just assign to the usual issues with animating hair unless you're Final Fantasy, why waste pixels when the processing can be better spent on the game.

Say, does anyone know if these games ever require a hostage? Or put the hero in an over-complicated deathtrap? :D

Uh, yes it's practical, even the suit, but he kinda looks like he shaved his head and put on a mini-sumo costume, at least around the arms and upper body. I have to wonder how he's gonna be able to move around.

Hey... Chris O'Donnell was about the only eye candy (for those interested guys) in either of Schmachers movies (Val Kilmer wasn't bad, Tommy Lee Jones has a wonderful face, a face that has lived, but he's not there to look pretty, Jim Carrey CAN look pretty, but not here, and neither George Clooney nor Arnie, even with their undeniable charisma could save their roles)

As much as anything else, I think they always feel like they have to put in a lot of extra 'effort' to make Robin acceptably manly (and heterosexual), lest their buyers all boycott the game on mass or something, idk.

I think it's a lot less to do with the actual comic reading demographic, and more silly worrying about mass media perceptions of the character. Seduction of the Innocent and all that bollocks!

That doesn't really say "Tim" to me, that says "older Damian". Costume's not terribly attractive (I can think of a few alterations off the top of my head that would streamline it without reducing practicality, for one), but I think the big problem is the hair, or rather the lack of hair. If it's an animation issue, go with the gelled spiky look, but he's actually supposed to be kind of a pretty boy. It's like they tried so hard to make him look masculine enough by certain definitions of the word that they lost some of what makes the character look like himself. Gag.
