Has anyone else here been reading Air? I picked up the first trade, and it was absolutely wonderful.

The way that Wonder Woman cover is framed, I thought at first that Diana was going at Achilles carrying a machine gun.

Now that I think about it, I demand the cover be changed to show that.

That Secret Six cover...

...

I could swear the artists used the same reference pictures Greg Land uses...

do you really think so? hell, I really like the secret six cover

I mean, it vaguely looks like Land's work, except better and not nearly as porny - at least, that's my opinion

I'd say they're celebrity referenced at least because that Wonder Woman looks insanely familiar but I can never seem to remember people so I have no clue who she's reminding me of.

That's Dinah. Riding a motorcycle. With the woman who tried to kill HOW many people next to her, with a man strapped and bleeding on her car.

Which is so much better than abandoning her daughter? Which is so much better than retiring from being a hero to raise said daughter? There is no GOOD Canary anymore.

Much as I appreciate the "creator" tag for Kreisberg, it's probably more useful to use the normal creator tag instead.

I think it actually might be better for Dinah if she went over the cliff at this point. Awful, simply awful. I mean there is bad and then there is awful. This is awful. ugh, I need a drink.

I have a theory the title's being written as a series of dares.

"Have Dinah suck in this new way!"
"Oh no, come on, that's way out of character!"
"Double dare you! Triple dare you!"
"...oh, okay, if it's a triple dare."

Random Thoughts on Solicits...

From: [identity profile] bluejaybirdie.insanejournal.com
Hmmm, guess we know what NolanVerse Catman would look like then. Also, I like Bane's mask. It actually kinda does look like a luchador mask for once.

They're aren't even trying to make the PG solicits not sound like cheesecake anymore, are they? (Though the cover is pretty)

Does that mean Achilles as in the one from The Illiad? Because that could actually be pretty freaking cool. He couls get resurrected, discover it's 2000 years later, and be all PTSD about all his friends and family being looooong gone. If Gail does that, it could be really neat. Plus, it could be something that he could be upset about to cause conflict, and Diana's lasso's really handy for clearing that kind of thing up. It could be a cool little bit of character play, there.

Imagine the Joker (in the sense of being crazy obsessed), but female and a Green Arrow villain. But, you know, without the 60 years of backstory or charm.

On the Wonder Woman note, is the Genocide arc over yet?

I really like the Secret Six cover. As for Power girl 'As the trio of sexy alien marauders continue their rampage across Earth, Power Girl tries to figure out how to stop ’em! But with aliens this gorgeous, readers won’t ever want them to leave!' What is this Marvel Divas, Marvel Model's inc? shape up, you have a female readership! Also if that green girl is coluan I will be pissed. I'm tired enough that Brainiac 5's eyes are continually micoloured purple in Legion of 3 worlds when they are green I don't want to see it here.

Putting several issues' spotlight on some WW villains other people invented would be much appreciated at this point.

Come on, virtually all of WW's enemies are a)women, b)ugly dudes, or c)guys who could arguably be sexy but who are wayyy too overdressed (ie Ares). I for one would like to thank Gail for creating and using Achilles ^^

Bleh - Scandal should never have Susan Richards' 60s hairstyle. Bleh - Looks like Stephen Baldwin under Catman's cowl. Bleh - Diana's really cute with a little overbite there, looking like Cobie Smulders, about to get tangled up in knots - Diana's not cute! Diana should run over Bane like a speed bump and then make really quick work of the others.

Diana vs. Achilles, round 2 - eagerly anticipating. Gold Eagle vs. Gold Lion. What's with the pansy zigzag sword, it's not even glowing/reflecting like the spear or her bracers. Both of them are a tad over-ripped (for Diana, it's her deformed elbow). I hope we don't have to wait too long for Tresser to get resolution one way or the other.

Not me. Too many years as a flight attendant to want to read about it. BUT I do a doubletake everytime I see her, as I think it's Lucy Lane, and then I remember what's being done with her character, and am sad.

That Secret six cover is at least seventeen kinds of awful.
Highly overrendered but yet completely bland, trying to look energetic and yet utterly lifeless. Every character has a distinct pose and looks and still none of them make sense and everyone looks wrong somehow.
It's like screenshots from a really awful video game.
I'm sorry to be such a drag but I truly hate this kind of "art".
