I could swear the artists used the same reference pictures Greg Land uses...

Date: 2009-06-15 04:38 pm (UTC)Which is so much better than abandoning her daughter? Which is so much better than retiring from being a hero to raise said daughter? There is no GOOD Canary anymore.

Date: 2009-06-15 04:43 pm (UTC)I'd say retiring to become a mother isn't necessarily a bad thing. Dinah doesn't want to make orphans.

From:Random Thoughts on Solicits...
Date: 2009-06-15 04:55 pm (UTC)They're aren't even trying to make the PG solicits not sound like cheesecake anymore, are they? (Though the cover is pretty)
Does that mean Achilles as in the one from The Illiad? Because that could actually be pretty freaking cool. He couls get resurrected, discover it's 2000 years later, and be all PTSD about all his friends and family being looooong gone. If Gail does that, it could be really neat. Plus, it could be something that he could be upset about to cause conflict, and Diana's lasso's really handy for clearing that kind of thing up. It could be a cool little bit of character play, there.
Re: Random Thoughts on Solicits...
Date: 2009-06-15 04:58 pm (UTC)It's actually a new guy. Zeus made his own group of Olympians (NOT MANAZONS. Jesus, it's like calling Grant Morrison's work "Batman RIPped one"), and Achilles is his champion. Your idea would be cool! Moar Greek enemies for Diana!

Putting several issues' spotlight on some WW villains other people invented would be much appreciated at this point.

Date: 2009-06-16 05:41 am (UTC)Come on, virtually all of WW's enemies are a)women, b)ugly dudes, or c)guys who could arguably be sexy but who are wayyy too overdressed (ie Ares). I for one would like to thank Gail for creating and using Achilles ^^

Date: 2009-06-15 10:40 pm (UTC)Diana vs. Achilles, round 2 - eagerly anticipating. Gold Eagle vs. Gold Lion. What's with the pansy zigzag sword, it's not even glowing/reflecting like the spear or her bracers. Both of them are a tad over-ripped (for Diana, it's her deformed elbow). I hope we don't have to wait too long for Tresser to get resolution one way or the other.

Date: 2009-06-16 09:30 am (UTC)Highly overrendered but yet completely bland, trying to look energetic and yet utterly lifeless. Every character has a distinct pose and looks and still none of them make sense and everyone looks wrong somehow.
It's like screenshots from a really awful video game.
I'm sorry to be such a drag but I truly hate this kind of "art".
