IGN Comics: Are there any plans for you to write Wonder Woman down the road?

Pfeifer: It'd be interesting. I might actually be doing an issue or two that sort of ties in with Amazons Attack. I'm not quite sure when they'll be scheduled, but there have been some talks. These series are so tightly tied that maybe I'll take a crack at it. I'm not sure how that affects Jodi's schedule. I'm certainly not replacing her on the book, but there's been some talk of maybe me doing an issue or two. That'd be fun. It's certainly a high profile book, and a DC book that has been appearing since the early forties. It's always fun to take on those iconic characters.

I was going to post this tomorrow, but heck with it. I got two entries planned for then (one bad and the other controversial) and frankly, you don't need to be subjected to this comic anymore. We've been following this series April and its time to put it to an end. Here's a few choice moments and final pages of the book.

















That's it folks. Amazons Attack is over. It no longer will be seen around here after this entry. Will I continue on and post Countdown or Death of the New Gods, the comics that are connected to this mini-series? In the future and not for some time (Before Watchmen first!)

Either way, it's over.

Really, the only way this makes sense is to assume Granny Goodness and the rest of Apokolips was mind-controlling the Amazons- and others!- the whole time and just acting like they chose to do it.

I'll comment Jodi Piccolt also immediately left the book, after something like a 6 issue run. Really short.

DC's leadership, and the writers of this event, just had the most bizaree ideas of what makes a good WW book.

Soooo, how did the whole "Granny Goodness kidnaps the entire Greek Pantheon" plot thread end?

something something Harley in Countdown to final crisis. one of the few events most creators actively try to pretend never happened. so you may as well create your own conclusion to it.
me personally? Diana wakes up and decides to never taste Hot dogs ever again.

Gail Simone didn't ignore it... It actually ended up shaping her run in huge ways, the gods being taken in by the Ichor and their return, Wonder Woman finding new patron to allow her to return to Thymescria... and the Amazon's eventual restoration, and in the end of the run saving Washington.

It is an event that never should have happened, but I'm glad it wasn't outright ignored either.

I like how she addressed it, but she rarely addressed exactly what happened, so I was able to fill in my own mental blanks with something better ^^

trooper asked how the plot in this book ended, and while Countdown does address it, so does Wonder Woman.

Some god-centric aliens called the Ichor rescued them (the Ichor were clearly setting up a plot that'd have come up if Gail's run went on longer, as they appeared a few times). Wonder Woman got a new patron- an awesome Hawai'ian God. Zeus got jealous. Ares decided to bow out after the experience, and let himself get killed by Wonder Woman (but leaving behind his spirit to do stuff in different ways).

Then in the Odyssey storyline, the goddess Nemesis, armed with a blade made by the titans to kill gods, sent them into hiding again, and Athena also decided to take the 'bow out and die, live as a spirit' route.

Then the reboot hit.

So again, how the heck did Granny Goodness solo the entire Greek Pantheon. Because I don't recall them ever revealing that she had help with that.

Also, destroying WW's entire mythos/supporting cast in what turned out to be a glorified prologue/tie-in to another crappy event, was just a godawful move on DC's part.

Even for as dumb as this series was, that ending is totally tacked-on and inconsistent.
