There are some people who prefer Hal Jordan. Others who prefer Kyle Rayner. Yet others with great affection for John Stewart or Ruffles the Rage Kitty. But they're not me. Because I like a different GL.
From the Superbuddies arc of JLA Classified: After Booster curses the Superbuddies to hell, Fire runs into Ice. Guy, who comes after the Superbuddies to help, hasn't yet seen Ice. Later:
From Green Lantern Corps 19, Guy and Ice meet again.
Yes, well, my patience for "people do something stupid because the genre requires it" happens to be at a low right now.
Seriously. I want to see an Orpheus story where the leader get their loved one out safely because they know how this works, and have the logic and willpower not to screw it up. Because looking back is the one guaranteed way to fail. If you get out of Hell and they still aren't there, that's a separate problem.
Everyone knows how it works, that's the point. It's only really tragic because Orpheus (and everyone put in the same position after him) knows what happens if they give in, and they can't help themselves anyway.
i agree, thats why it works so well. Everyone knows the rules. everyone knows what will happen. but when you are put in the position, who amongst us can say with perfect certainty that we will not look back. Both guy and Bea loved her so much. I LOVE that last page you can see the absolute heart break, i SERIOUSLY started tearing up.
I also love that Ice didnt seem to fault Bea, all she said was, "Bea. you always did care too much."

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
