I never knew Peter Parker looked that much like John Romita. ;-)

Thanks for posting these, there are some real gems there.

I think I first saw the Romita piece on the pages of the old Marvel Chronicles tome, and Raymond's self-portrait is often featured alongside his works.

Byrne's and Ditko's are quite telling, in a way... (and none too subtle), and I love the way Perez approached the topic of character overexposure - and back when Logan wasn't everywhere.
Also, I never realized that Neal Adams looked like William Shatner's distant cousin? :D

Just to add another, here's Leo Ortolani, author of Rat-Man (among others), and lifelong Kirby fan:

Ditto.

This might explain "Odyssey" though...

I was thinking a handsomer John Travolta, really...which would Really explain "Odyssey".

See, with the smile and hair, the first thing that popped into my head was a young Ronald Reagan.

Is Neal Adams a young Columbo?

My personal favourite is Hiromu Arakawa, author of Fullmetal Alchemist :)

EDIT: changed from imagie to link because it was too large.

I have a poster version of this self-portrait from Charles Vess hanging across from my drawing table. I found it at a discount because it was torn and water-warped, but it's stayed with me over the course of three cross-country moves! It sums up how I'd like to see myself as an artist.

Yeah, it makes me feel inspired every time! Even if it's covered in tape and thumb-tack holes now.
