Another story from Wonder Woman #1, 1942.

When I'm a supervillain, I'm totally going to have gorgeous, scantily clad slaves kneeling all over the place. And a throne. Why don't more supervillains do this? What's the point of being a supervillain otherwise?

She'll let anyone tie her up. This feels almost like child molestation.

Through a complicated series of events, Paula stole Wonder Woman's lasso.

Until the next time she's needed for a story, anyway.

I scanned this one mainly because it's one of the most popular panels for reprint in articles about Wonder Woman.

Tune in tomorrow, same Wonder-time, same Wonder-channel.

I have to admit, I can see why that last panel is so popular. It's adorable.

It really is.

Though a shame that she has to order it! :o

I'm getting a real 'Darkwing Duck' vibe from that first page - Paula's 'cell becomes secret hideout' setup is practically identical to Taurus Bullba's in the pilot episode. Either way, it's an awesome concept - who needs to be on the lam all the time, fleeing the cops, the army and superheroes, when you can be nice and safe in jail without the slightest change to your basic lifestyle? It's a villain's dream - you don't only not have to worry about the law being on your back, they're actually guarding you!

The Mad Thinker takes that to a new level: thanks to surgically implanted tech, he's able to long-range control android duplicates of himself while he's in prison. So he can still do what he wants, and he has the perfect alibi.

Yes, but does he have an awesome super-lair that flips into place when nobody's looking? I think not.
