They can try. But given their failure at making Cyclops a true villian and Emma's unexpected(at least to Marvel editorial) popularity boost after Death of X I wouldn't be surprised if her popularity hit Cyke, Logan, Storm, and Magneto levels after IvX.
I don't know, even in this issue they seem to be discussing Cyclops in a very different manner than a year ago.
As this whole thing seemed to start to give the Inhumans a massive push, I wonder if the seeming difficulty of getting them over to that degree is starting to make them rethink if they really want to sacrifice their classic X-Men to make the Inhumans seem like the true heroes here.
I keep hearing that Marvel is trying to make the Inhumans the Big Damn Heroes but...I'm just not seeing that. In both Death of X, in their own titles and here, they really come of as JERKS at best, elitist supermacists at worst. No entirely unreasonable people, mind you, but not nice guys and possibly not good guys.
We've seen them engage in blatant anti-Mutant propaganda. We see them casually saying that they don't HAVE to find a solution to the Terrigen problem, except that sooner or later the mutants are gonna get mad about it again. All of which is correct, but they're not really being portrayed as very sympathetic...they're not being portrayed as the clear good guys, here. Of course, the possibility exists that Marvel editorial THINKS they're doing that, but that's not how I've read any of this material over the last year or so.

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
