Good Lord, with all the powers of the Nazi propaganda machine, when it came to creating their own twisted superheroes - the best they could come up with was "Captain Nazi"?

They really needed to reach out to the PR machine Hydra has to convince others that they aren't Nazis anymore. ;)

To be honest Captain Nazi is an original Fawcett creation from the year 1941 and even back then really good creative names were hard to find.

Oh yeah, this arc. It was rather interesting and I really did like the small moment at the very end of it when things were back to normal that Mr. Terrific reached out to the woman writing things down when she was a child and helped her out by paying for her college and everything. Very nice. It's the little things that I appreciate.

It explodes on proximity. And that means a lot of wooden shrapnel that his ring cant protect him from. Quite elegant really.

Captain Swastika, Captain Murder, Count Berlin, and of course Baron Gestapo.

Points for the cleverness of using DC's then owning the rights to Archie's Red Circle/MLJ stuff to pad out the Fourth Reich's roster.

(I'd wonder that any of them can keep those names with a straight face, but Captain Nazi's front and center here.)

I don't think Willingham was/is the bad guy people treated him as when he wrote the series, but damn if he's not boring regardless.

He over-explains things, and kills interesting ideas

It's horrific and depressing that DC has so many Nazi-related villains alive and in good health in the modern day and age.

Well we haven't seen them since this arc and since the reboot, so alive and healthy is up in the air.

Frankly, what I find more depressing is how relevant these guys are with the rise and growth of white supremacists and Neo Nazis in recent years.

I don't care how "classic comics" the scenario is, portrayals of Nazi villains as saturday morning cartoon goofballs like this will never not be garish and in incredibly poor taste. You cannot BAM BIFF POW away the context of WW2 and the Holocaust.

Not exactly saying you can only be like Uber if you want Nazi villains, but be more down to earth and observant of history, please.

Err, they're not Saturday morning cartoon characters. Here they kill members of the JSA, and in the arc itself brutally oppress the world. I don't think a single member is given the slightest redeeming trait.

Hydra, they ain't.

Granted, their costumes/name leave a little to be desired, but that's par for the course in comics.

The rubber balls is physics fail. It would work if they were racing towards each other, not going the same way.

You'd think having team members called Captain Murder and Dr. Demon would cause them to have a "are we the baddies?" moment.
