It's been a long while since I posted any of my ever growing art collection, partly because I've been slowing it down a little, and partly because I've never made the time
One of my favourite Batman stories is the legendary "Dreadful Birthday Dear Joker (Click for scans)" and one of the things I've said more than once is that it would have made an absolutely AWESOME Batman: The Animated Series episode. Now Rick Celis is an artist who practically specialises in redoing comic characters in BTAs style (Well, more than that, but it's ONE of the things he does well) and when he opened up slots to have classic covers re-done, how could I say no?
And having seen it, WHY whould I say no?

Yup, this would have been one HELL of an episode! :)
He also did a version of it with proper cover logos and markups, which I put on my CAF
This is a Christmas gift (yes, it HAS been a long time) from an old friend was the amazing Robin from Dan Jurgens

He'd asked if he could do an alternative to the "Boy hostage" theme, and who can argue with the results? This is Dick freeing himself from a barbecued bird boy deathtrap and is about to take merry vengeance on any bad guys within reach, he's already sorted out who he's going to beat up first, second and third, and he's deciding on who gets fourth place.
I've posted from Lisa Spiller (aka Yawpatski), before, with her delightful webcomic Bucky and FUBAR, about the Winter Soldier rehabilitating with the help of his service dog, FUBAR.
So it seemed only natural to have her showcase Bucky and his rival sidekick, at various stages of their relationship.
From kicking butt in their early days (of WWII presumably... Hopefully punching a LOT of Nazi's)

To them meeeting again years later, when Dick was Agent 37, and Bucky was the Winter Soldier...

And finally in this triptych, well... come on, this is ME we're talking here! :)

I think Dick is perhaps enjoying this a little more than Bucky is.
And for my final entry... Well, as you may have gathered over the years, I'm not perhaps the most imaginative when it comes to the range of characters i collect, but I do pick characters who are versatile in terms of drawing options.
So when I saw Abraham Hernandez, a fan artist whose work I've liked, offer single figure commissions t a very cheap price, I took a chance and asked for Douglock (If I can't have Doug and Warlock, their combined form is always an option!)
And this was the result, one of the most impressive, beautiful, and rather unsettling takes on Douglock I've ever seen... This is not younger Doug and Walrock Douglock, this is perhaps what the current Doug (who was rebuilt from his deceased remains with magic and the transmode virus) and Warlock (Whose had Doug's DNA fused into him for years) might look like.

And to cap it all off, I was also supplied with this fascinating process video as Abraham created it...
Amazing, isn't it? :)
