On behalf of the Mod Team, we send our warmest good wishes to our members of the female persuasion.
And also a shout out to the female creators who have contributed so much to our preferred graphic medium over a great many decades. From Marie Severin to Seanan Maguire, Gail Simone to G Willow Wilson, Jackie Ormes to Sophie Campbell and oh so many others..
And in terms of characters, where does one begin? Wonder Woman? Storm? Catwoman? Kitty Pryde? Renee Montoya? Ms Marvel? Lois Lane? Shuri? Monica Rambeau? Starfire? Ma Kent? Dani Moonstar?
And of course, Emma Frost, whose one page story from "Marvel's Voices" seems like a good choice for a scan to post.

So? Who are YOUR favourite comic women, on either side of the page?

Date: 2020-03-09 02:04 am (UTC)Interestingly although Anode has reformated herself to have a more conventional female coded body shape, Lug still keeps her old male-coded body even though she is definitely a she; which shows a greater knowledge and acceptance of the spectrum that transpeople in the real world often represent at. Genuinely well done IDW, and certainly handles the trans representation better than their first attempt with Arcee.
I love Arcee as the asskicking warrior, but they screwed up her origin story the first time around there. Big shout out to Windblade, Nautica, Elita-1, Moonracer; and even Nightbird the first female robot in the Transformers franchise, even if she was a little bit of a false start.
Okay, I admit it, I love my female robot idols.
