Kang is an interesting character to me because he presents two often conflicting viewpoints: he values humanity and all of its accomplishments, being, in effect, an extreme historian, but also has little to no regard for any individuals other than himself. He loves his species, but only because they've produced Kang, who regards himself as the pinnacle of the human race, the end product of humanity. -- Jed MacKay

MiracleMan? (Or will they go with MarvelMan?) Either way, not sure if this is a good or a bad thing...

I'm an enormous fan of the Moore/Gaiman Mircaleman issues, but it's important to remember that it's been thirty years since those issues were published. It's time to see what someone else can do with the character, especially if Gaiman isn't going to finish up scripts for the remaining Silver and Dark Age titles.

There's Geoff Johns. At this point, half his career is following up on old Alan Moore concepts.

But maybe Marvel doesn't want to pick up any of his bad press...

I could have sworn there was a miniseries about Miracle Man in the past ten years or so. Am I misrembering?

In 2016, Marvel made shockwaves by revealing its blonde, blue eyed fan-favourite character was in fact a dangerous fascist planning a hostile world takeover.

In 2016, DC chose, yet again, to focus all of its big announcements around mining a classic Alan Moore story for the nostalgia, having few original ideas of their own, and fewer still that were any good.

In 2022...Marvel...splits the difference.

Who’s gone all Secret Empire over in DC?

Nobody, I think. Don't pay enough attention to DC at large. I'm just saying this feels like a weird combo of the two approaches from 2016

This feels like the only place to put this...but I liked Secret Empire. It was obvious, at least to me, that Cap wasn't really a secret Nazi all this time. It was an Evil Captain America storyline and regular Cap was gonna come back and save the day in the end, and I enjoyed the ride there. That might mainly be because of the art though

Well, if nothing else, the interactions between Miracleman's world and Krakoa should be very very interesting.

Also, I hope Young Miracleman makes the jump over to 616. Poor kid could use the break.

Not gonna lie...
Pretty disappointed the 'pirate universe' did not contain any actual pirates.

Metaphor be a harsh mistress.
(okay there have been actual pirate-themed universes before but thats not the point!
and most of them sucked, anyway.)

Having absolutely no opinion on Miracleman (and not being tremendously wild about Alan Moore even when he's not yelling at clouds), that final scene is... not tremendously whelming.

And the obligatory "tell you what the upcoming events are" scene reveal...
They're getting rid of Cap again?
Good grief.
Pretty sure Steve's spent more time not being Cap over the last fifteen years than actually being Cap...

So that's most likely Mary Jane in the spider costume, but who's Black Panther, there? Shuri, or Storm?

I'm more interested in them thinking Jack of Hearts returning is a big deal.

Well, he has been dead for almost twenty years now, that's practically ancient in terms of superhero death.

Damn I haven't seen Kang written this well since Busiek's Avengers epic. Perfectly nails him, especially the end where yes, it may be he's covering for the guy saving him with "it was all in my plan" but maybe yes, he did plan for it. Just great here.
