His return, his appearance to save Jim Gordon and the Question (Renee Montoya) from the forces of the Orgham family, had been the end of #1083's main story.
He fought off the Orghams' men and monsters, denying the representatives of those who had Gotham City in their power.
When the battle was done, he had " It's good to see you too " for Jim.
For the Question, he had especially concrete evidence for the case she'd been working.

" .. I'd like to find a place to watch the sun come up over my city. "
After his cleanse in the Aras desert - after the burning away of the azmer spirit the Orghams had inflicted on him, his repudiation of his darkness Barbatos and its cultivator Doctor Hurt - he'd seen the sun come up over the sands over days.
Talia al Ghul was with him then, as she'd been when she took him to be healed. Bruce Wayne worked himself back up to form, lived in days where Batman the mask was far from his mind -
- and then Talia's men brought to her the corpse of Arzen Orgham.
Arzen, who'd come to Gotham to work for his family - who'd been Bruce Wayne's friend and Batman's enemy, who'd captured the latter and then pointed Catwoman towards saving the former, who'd been killed by his mother for obeying his conscience over his responsibility.

(He's talking about what he found in #1062, the start of this run.)

(Talia's talking about her dad's history with the Orgham family, which she related to Bruce in #1071.)
In the night, Talia came to Bruce.
" You shaved. " she noticed.

He walked off into the rising sun, to " become consequence " upon the Orghams.
He stood now on a Gotham rooftop, with Jim Gordon, waxing melancholic.

" Did everyone just forget and move on? "
Jim told him a story about a case.

" .. it's more important to stand opposed. "
(" No, you move ", but a little less self-aggrandizing with its individualism.)
Batman's doubts resolved into surety.
" Thank you, Jim. "

Batman'd swung off.
Later, when the sun'd set, Arzen's mother Dariah was carrying on the work of the Orghams - talking about how " We took out [Gotham's] mistakes. "

(Love the nuance of the Gotham power players she's treating with being a mix of pulpy supervillains and more mundanely dressed folk.)
" But those are children's terms. What Gotham needed was a vision. "
She walked them through it - the bright city with " the right people - sheltered from its ugliness, encased in beauty.
" .. in this unspoken contract lies true power..

The tame light of the Orghams' domain suddenly burst in a blast.

The blast was Batman's work.

(Yes, the blast was Bat-shaped.)

(The Joker previously cameoed in this run in #1069, spectating the Orghams' hanging of Batman.)
That was the main story - the backup was Cass Cain, who'd been echoing the Bat while Batman was away.
In her tribute performance, she came across Lady Shiva retrieving Arzen's body for Talia.

They fought.

Shiva had the advantage over Cass - and then Orgham monsters showed up.

Cass fought the azmers, disregarding Shiva's blunt truth - she " [would] not allow the night to forget [Batman]..

(Her difficulties weren't obvious in #1082 because she was throwing herself against average goons, instead of strong-spirits-possessing-humans and Lady Shiva.)

' .. win by any means necessary. '
So she moved ' .. inexorably.. invisibly..
' .. and with terrifying speed.
' She [moved] like herself.

(That's a Batarang, green with azmer blood.)
