So he's an objectivist who pimped out his 14/15 year old daughter for football tickets? Mmkay.
Also here's some designs for the new Detective Comics Question segment,

Date: 2009-04-01 04:00 am (UTC)A couple of various people have said that this was an objectivist message, though I can't remember how accurate it is though.

Date: 2009-04-01 05:29 am (UTC)I somehow doubt that Brad Bird had been reading Ayn Rand, but yeah, I see the implications (and if it was intentional, it was better-done and more entertaining than most objectivist claptrap). On the other hand, non-supers like the villain's henchwoman and Bob's lawyer are integral to the happy ending.
It did make me wonder what Bird had against heroes like Batman or Iron Man, though, or why it was wrong for the villain's super-tech to be freely available.

Date: 2009-04-01 05:37 am (UTC)And he probably doesn't have anything against non-powered superheroes, it's just that it was a semi-unintentional riff on the Fantastic Four. With the Parr's standing in for the members of thta team (except Dash), and with Syndrome in the role of Dr Doom, being a guy with no inbuilt superpowers (other than magic, but that probably would have made it too obvious).
