Because You Didn't Demand It! Part 2 of 3. TRIUMPH

7 pages Plus the cover from Justice League Task Force #16 continuing my story on Triumph. The guy who just can't get a break.







Triumph is less than pleased with the current "League" and their non help fullness so begins a fight to get their attention.



Their battle runs through the neighborhood and annoys Arion in his old man form. Arion gets up, changes into his well known Sorceror look to tell the team to get off his lawn.

 

Atlantean dickery....  

The team clams down and decide to try to help Triumph, except Fire who goes after Arion to try getting help to resurrect Ice, he pretty much tells her to leave him alone and poofs off.                



Yes Bea, completely ignore telling him Will's tale and the reason nobody remembers him...



I have to say I love that Will actually questions his methods and what's going on, he doesn't think he's right completely but he realizes he can't take the chance that the aliens he was fighting came back with him.

And...enter Martian Manhunter.... he and Will never do end up getting along that much....

 



And...Triumph was right. The aliens had indeed come back with him!

Poor Will.

It's L-Ron in Despero's body. How he got there I couldn't tell you.

Hey it's Tasmanian Devil. Did you know his mother was a were-Tasmanian Devil who raised him in a Tasmanian Devil cult, which gave him a Tasmanian Devil amulet after selling his soul to a Tasmanian Devil and injecting him with radioactive Tasmanian Devil musk from a race of alien Tasmanian Devils.

Can't explain it much better than the posts but...

He's a hero who would've formed the Justice League had he not on his first mission with them damaged a time/space drive ripping him out of history and Zero Hour's time effect brought him back to the DCU.

Nobody remembers him and so on.

Sentry was later based off him and made crazy and overpowered.

First there was Triumph, then Moon Maiden and then Sentry.

Wow, this comic just SCREAMS 90's! Almost as much as the crossover they did with Bloodaxe, Bloody Mary, The Blood Brothers, Dr Blood, Brother Blood, and Baron Blood.

And what the heck is Triumph doing in the first page first panel with his hand there?

And that's not Arion! It's Namor in a big poofy red cloak!

I was wondering what Crimson Fox actually did... by the end of this selection, I knew: She poses. A lot.

Yeah, that was my problem with her/them. The JLE's token European didn't actually have much in the way of interesting powers or personality

Man and people say Wally had a smooth succession when he became Flash...that was a pretty snide comment from Ralph. Hell I remember in the first race between Flash!Wally and Superman, Clark too was riding Wally out for not being Barry.


Then again Wally was an obnoxious dick for a few years before Waid's run.

That bit doesn't even make sense, because didn't Wally and Ralph have a whole subplot of bonding over Barry's death and stuff in JLE? They're buddies in every single other comic I've seen with both of them in it.
