A third Spider-Man title on my read list and of course it is from a different period in time than the other books. I can only apologise for how confusing these posts will become.

...which has been an event since 1988, in the USA, UK and, for some reason, Switzerland.

Initially for coming out as gay, but since extended to include coming out as being anywhere on the LGBTQA+ spectrum.

Now, some people find they come come out without effort, and that's fine, some people put it off, or never come out for whatever reason, and that's fine too (and of course, in some cases it's just not safe to do so), so there is no pressure to come out, but if the focus helps some people, then more power to them!

So how do the comics handle such things?

In recent times it's been a lot more straightforward, as identifying as nonstraight is not automatically the social outcast but 26 years ago... not so easy.

Greetings True Believers!

It's time for some classic Avengers. Avengers #222 to be precise. It's a selection from when She-Hulk was the new kid on the block. Masters of Evil, '80s fashion, jerky Hawkeye and oh yes, THE '80S.

Enjoy!

DC's Retro-Active event moved into the 1980s this week. The Flash's old creative team of Bill Messner-Loebs (writer) and Greg Larocque (artist) bring us a brand new tale of the fastest man alive.

Meet Alexis Cooper, assistant night manager at Taco Whizz. She's the Flash's true love, don't you know?

In this installment of Bloodlines we get to probably my second favorite of the male Bloodliners (after Joe Public if anyone really wanted to know, or it might be a tie between 'em I tend to go back and forth).

This issue is nice in that it portrays a pretty realistic look on a guy who gets powers after his life has turned to hell, at least to me.

18 pages from a 54 page story.

Beware HIS fears turned into life! )

I've been meaning to post this one for a while. There were some arcs back in the early issues of Wally's debut as Flash that were big into explaining, or attempting to explain, a lot of how Wally's powers worked and how he made his suit and other fun stuff like that. Having never read much more than a few panels here and there of Barry's first run, this was especially interesting to me.

So, here's 3 pages of Flash v2, issue 24 )

We're doing Atrocious Fashion Week now? Man, if we're doing Atrocious Fashion Week there's one person who absolutely must have a post. Or several.

The Queen of "Oh Honey No" moments herself, Ms Janet van Dyne.

It's tragic enough when she's just dressing herself but when she gets her hands on someone else's wardrobe . . .

She-Hulk finds out the hard way. (Slight warning for Jen's purple lace undies.) )

(Roughly four pages from Avengers 222)

Suggested tags: char: wasp/janet van-dyne, char: she-hulk/jennifer walters, creator: greg larocque, creator: steven grant, publisher: marvel comics, title: avengers
