For Batman Day, here is 1989's Batman #431, "The Wall." Written by Chrisopher Priest. Art by Jim Aparo.
Mostly a "standard" Batman mystery, with an interesting tie into Bruce's origin story. It is also the first appearance of Master Kirigi.

Batman Day - My favorite Batman stories

It was hard for me to pick one favorite Batman story but I ended up settling on two.

Batman Day - Batman: Year One

As much as I enjoy Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, I find his post-Crisis retelling and expansion of Batman's origin more down-to-earth and definitive. It manages to portray a corrupt municipal government and police force with a realism that still resonates all too well today, while showing that the Caped Crusader can be effective and heroic without an angry bat archetype in his head compelling his actions.

Stealth #2 was a father-son conversation.

It began after the end of #1, with Tony Barber in the hospital.

His doctor friend was looking him over: " What exactly did these kids hit you with?

" An alumnium bat? "
