"I love Hulk. I have a HUGE pitch in my back pocket if I ever get called upon." - Donny Cates

It started out as one thing, but we integrated it and I spoke with Phillip Kennedy Johnson, who's doing the Superman stuff, and I really like that guy, he's very smart and he has got big ideas for Superman. What I did was kind of retrofit it all in so it absolutely ties in, it's kind of important. If you don't read this, you'll probably die! -- Grant Morrison

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.

Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.

Honestly, between the chaos in Afghanistan ad the dire situation in Haiti following it's earthquake, looking through the news has been more bleak than usual. So you'll forgive me if I just... don't, this week.

Veteran British actress Una Stubbs passed away aged 84. Known to an older generation as the ghastly Aunt Sally in Jon Pertwee's "Worzel Gummidge" series, more recently she found fame as Mrs Hudson in "Sherlock".

So we had new seasons of Titans (Which dropped the first three episodes in one go), Star Trek: Lower Decks and the launch of "What If...?" (Which has it's own thread elsewhere).

We also had the end of season 1 of "The Bad Batch", which I'm afraid I just couldn't get into that much. A bit better than "Resistance", but no "Rebels" or "The Clone Wars" IMHO.

Late addition - A trailer for the Star Wars anime: Star Wars: Visions" has just dropped

The "Wishmaker" episode of Miraculous Ladybug added a weird, but potentially fascinating, new corner to the ongoing "Love Square" dynamic between our two main heroes and their secret identities, as a third person with a vested interest suddenly learns a lot more secrets than they were expecting to find out.

Random question? Any youtube channel recommendations? I've recently rediscoverd Toy Galaxy, which is great for covering old toy lines (and their TV shows where relevant), and I notice that B Dylan Hollis, who recreates old time recipes (some of them downright odd) on TikTok now has a YT channel. Always fun when he finds ones that actually work a lot better than they sound like they should.

I can't think of any creatives that I'd follow to a platform like this, especially for $8/month, and with no guarantee of a regular release schedule.

There's been a lot of different attempts to get into the comic market in the past few years, including
Bad Idea (Comic books only available in comic book stores, but only a select few!), which didn't last long,
TKO Studios, which makes box sets of singles, digital trades and has a diverse looking catalogue of "shorts". I really recommend Sara, which is Ennis being let loose to write about women shooting Nazis in WW2.

Currently, I'm splitting my comics reading between Comixology for DC and indie books and Marvel unlimited for stuff that I'm intrigued by, but not $4 intrigued by. I've not bought a floppy in years, and tend to only get physical trades of things I've already read and enjoyed.

How do you read your weekly comics now?

For people who are fans of wonderful nineties comics, which I am, because I grew up on them, we did a tribute to Gary Frank and Peter David’s weird, very bizarre, Supergirl run where she has the angel wings. -- Tom King
