In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using
the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing. The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.
The UK Government, after almost an entire year without anything more than the usual cruelty, incompetence and small mindedness managed to surprise everyone by firing the... let's be charitable and say "controversial"... actually no, sod that, let's say "dangerously shit stirring" Home Secretary Suella Braverman, and then
appointing ex-PM David Cameron as Foreign Secretary, despite him not even being an MP any more. (They made him an instant Lord instead)
As iopgod summarised it on tumblr:
As far as I can tell, the best PM the Tory party can find is the man who *lost* the leadership election to someone who didn't outlast a head of lettuce, the best home secretary was a woman who had resigned 6 days prior to her appointment due to leaking state secrets, and now the best foreign secretary is the man who, at the peak of his political career, managed to oversee the biggest self inflicted foreign policy disaster in living memory. "Strong and Stable".The accuracy is painful.
In the same week that the Pope
confirmed he see's nothing wrong with baptising transgender people or them becoming godparents which is pretty darned progressive for the Catholic Church, he also
fired a Bishop in Texas for suggetsing that the Pope's reforms as regards were a bad idea..
I'm making use of iPlayer to watch some old Classic Doctor who I've either never got around to seeing, or haven't watched in 50_ years! This is fun!
