Saga of the Swamp Thing #21, "The Anatomy Lesson," is one of mainstream comics' most influential stories. It basically launched Alan Moore's career in America (he started with #20, but that was more of a housecleaning and lead-in). It redefined the Swamp Thing in a way that shifted his whole paradigm: he went from a transformed human into something that had never been human.

Am I the only one bugged when TPTB try to insist that Red Sonja is an original Robert Howard creation instead of admitting she was created by Roy Thomas? There's no shame in it, man. You don't have to try to lend Red Sonja some OG legitimacy by pretending there's a story in Weird Tales somewhere about a chick in a chainmail bikini who can't screw. She's an iconic character who entirely came about through not only comic books, but tie-in media. That should be honored! Imagine if one of the biggest Star Wars characters came from Tales of the Jedi. That'd be cool!
