In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.
The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.
Well, since I've been hiding under a rock, in a cave, on Mars, for the past few days, I thought I'd check in in case I missed anything on the news.
Seriously though, it's been a bit of a whirl AGAIN, hasn't it? Biden stood down, though one suspects he certainly didn't want to, but still managed to do it in a statesmanlike way which leaves his legacy of public service intact, and suddenly the Republican party has the MUCH older candidate, who is only three years younger than Biden is.
As some commentators have noted, Harris, now has only 15 weeks to make enough of an impact to win, but the US is unusual in just how long before the election the campaigning starts, so this might help in some respects.
Oh well, it looks like it's going to be an even more eventful few months than expected... because that's what we were all looking forward to I'm sure [/irony]
The world once again proved that all it takes is the equivalent of one rubber band holding a switch down in Reykjavík snapping, to disable half the planets electronic systems. I hope no one was too inconvenienced by it.
Star Wars:The Acolyte came to an end with a general feeling of "Well... so that happened" which is a shame, given the cast wasn't half bad. It just seemed not to take advantage of the fact it was set in the Old Republic to do anything new or daring.
