In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.
Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.
The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.
The UK has been dealing with a series of xenophobic, Islamophobic race riots, with destruction and chaos caused by opportunistic far right groups after spreading misinforamtion following a tragic mass stabbing last week. The words I want to use to describe this situation would lead me to ban myself, so just imagine the most foul invective you can, and apply it.
Google have lost a court case concerning their use of monopolistic behaviour in keeping their status as default search engine.
The Olympics have highlighted brilliant talent, with Simone Biles becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time and a thoroughly toxic and transphobic series of claims that some women MUST "really" be males despite all evidence to the contrary.
I must say, apart from a quibble or two about the animation style aside (Did every single man in Gotham City who was not Bruce Wayne wear the same black suit and black tie?) and some odd decisions regarding Harvey Dent, I thoroughly enjoyed Batman: Caped Crusader, with very effective takes on some classic villains (and of course, the Nocturna episode had a number of cute little surprises too)
