After Thundra's Guide to Picking up Men and Hyperion's Guide to Speed Dating, I give you Hyperion's Guide to Flirting with a waitress.
The first two extracts come from the excellent Hyperion: Daddy Issues mini series (which features exactly none of Hyperion's own children from Hickvengers) by Chuck Wendig, Ario Anindito and Nik Virella, while this is from the post-Secret Wars Squadron Supreme series by James Robinson and Leonard Kirk. Four pages from Squadron Supreme (2015-2017) #7

If you're tight on time and need to find love in a hurry, just remember Hyperion's Three Rules for Finding Love

  • Truth without compromise

  • Thought without error

  • All things for the betterment of the whole

This is from the time that Hyperion is discovering America by driving a truck across the country, with hilarious results, rather than co-parenting a bunch of genetically superior zebra children with Thor in the Savage Land.

Key lessons in flirting from this interaction:
DO:
Make eye contact
Introduce yourself
Smile
Accept compliments with good grace
Establish shared interests
Establish that your son doesn't have ringworm
Value people important to them.

And as a bonus, here is the cover for Avengers 34.1 by Chris Bachalo

You know that Superman walking across America story they did? I feel like that should have been this story. This seems like a better version of that.

Also, after so much of the new edgy Squadron Supreme (Plus the fact I've been watching Avengers Assemble on Amazon, where Hyperion is one of the recurring villains), its refreshing to see a Hyperion who isn't a weapons grade douchenozzle (Or alternatively isn't being hounded to become a douchenozzle by an intensely stupid US Government).

And of course nothing ever came of this, did it.

Hyperion really dropped off the grid recently, didn't he? After Squadron Supreme ended, he popped up briefly in Secret Empire, but other than that...

I'm sure he'll show up to get killed off when they need to hype Sentry going crazy again.

It seems like someone posted scans a while back of Agent Coulson having versions of him and Zarda brainwashed at Mephisto's behest. Was that Secret Empire or something else? No idea if that was actually this Hyperion or a new homegrown Prime Earth version, though.

I kind of like the one from this story, and his previous solo series.

random, but: it should have been Fernley, rather than Fallon. Fallon's a naval air force base that's a little off the beaten path, but it's near Fernley, which is on 80 and has a big truck stop.

/random notes from my years in Nevada.
