Last issue: back in the 1980s (okay, it should be the '80s, but it was probably just, like, ten years ago Marvel-time), both Emma Frost and Elektra worked for the Kingpin. One night, a little girl saw Elektra assassinate someone, so Elektra went to Emma and asked her to mindwipe the girl. However, the Kingpin already got word that there was a witness and, well, he takes more extreme measures to witnesses.

Cue: Emma Frost and Elektra kidnapping the girl...with the help of a special guest.

You can tell by web which it is. Spidey's goes THWIP! Venom's goes PLIP. It also come out the top of his hand. So this is just black costume Spidey.

Huh. Neat. I’ve never really read any of the stuff from when Peter first got the symbiote, so that’s cool they had a way to differentiate from regular suit or symbiote.
