Hi ho, gang! Yes, i'm still alive. I got ill in February and was either in hospital or recovering and not allowed to drive til recently, and so missed the last couple issues of Teen Titans. But! Now I have both the ones I missed and the latest in hand! So I figure i'll do one post on the back issues and a separate post for the new. I have here six pages each from Teen Titans #28 and #29 - sounds like a lot, but there's at least one double-page splash from each ish.

You'll recall that when we left our merry band, the remaining Titans had joined Kid Flash and Solstice in the 31st century, where Bart was apprehended and put on trial. Being in the future enabled Bart to break through his Echo-created "witness protection" personality and become the evil revolutionary Bar Torr again, and submitting to the trial was part of his scheme - with all his world's power brokers gathered to watch him hang, his forces were able to strike at all of them at once, to the Titans' dismay.

We now join the battle already in progress )

Stay tuned, gentle readers! Same Titan time, same Titan channel!

More fans comics done me and my friend. I have the main focus be on Superboy, as seeing him in Adventures of Superman #500. i didn't got to pick up his book until around after the 50 issue mark, and then they brought back the forgotten Jack Kirby work.... until that was too forgotten and Countdown brought it back and ruined it... so basically, the kids is my pill to the nerd-dom I have been engrossed in... even when I was hyperactive for Pokemon... so basically, I have made a FEW comics of the Kid of Steel, and since most seemed to liked my fan-comic post about Nana Harley... I thought I might share these...

Lets see what my nerd-dom and English Degree does for me here... )

The new issue of Teen Titans is out today, and it's a kind of breather issue between Big Epic Battle Sequences - the one we've just finished with Trigon & Co., and the upcoming Forever Evil sub-issues (numbered #23.1 and #23.2) featuring Trigon and Deathstroke.

You'll recall that last issue ended a little something like this:

Titans? Anyone? HELP? )

We have a guest artist in Robson Rocha this issue, whose pencils are serviceable, and inker Wayne Faucher. But I continue to hate the coloring jobs we're getting on this book.

Well, this is a difficult posting task - once again Lobdell, Barrows and Merino have committed rampant Double-Page Splash Abuse in crafting their fight scene. So I'm giving you a summary of the fight and three post-fight pages.

Did I miss anything, Red Robin? )

Next Issue: "The End of a Titan!" (But Not the One You Think!)

In which the Titans take on Raven's three demonic half-brothers, and we get a better look at what nU!Raven can/will do in action.

You people don't set the bar very high... )

Next: Dark Titans!

with a bang *and* a whimper.

You'll recall that we left our merry band on the ropes during the rumble in the tumble(weeds) with Superboy, the Ravagers, Harvest and his lackeys, and Capt. Adym and Agent Lure of Echo all tussling with Daggor and the worldkiller he's building. Adym and Harvest, over the objections of all the other factions, planned to use Adym's time bubble to go back an hour before Daggor's forcefield went up and blow everything to Hell - killing billions, but saving quintillions, by their rather loose math.

We rejoin our battle already in progress, as Harvest sends Adym off in the bubble.

I do hope you won't allow the recent unpleasantness to taint your impressions of the 21st century! )
And we close out with the tagline, NEVER THE END!

So since they're still stuck in the 21st century, now can we start integrating them with the rest of the DCnU? I still miss Oz and the Orchid Clinic doc, who's still got hypertaxis virus mutation sufferers/fatalities all over the place. Wherever this team turns up next, I'd like to see some of that kind of supporting cast relationship-building happen, since they never took the time in their own title's 2-year run to do it properly.

...I know I sound like I don't like this title, but honestly I do. I nitpick because I love. I just got the trade of the first six issues and reading it like a book, I can see so many missed opportunities and so much potential here. It may not have suited my vision of a 21st-century Legion book, but I'm awfully sorry to see it go.

Kon-El had a lot of "Awwww!" moments. One is SUPERBOY #70, when Superboy returns from Hypertime. (That was a short-lived attempt to bring back Multiple Earths in the mainstream DCU, used in SUPERBOY and THE FLASH.) While traveling alternate Earths, Kon-El found out Clark Kent was really Superman which... hurt his feelings.
