Silver Surfer #25

The previous two issues were pretty much filler. Steve Englehart was told he had to abandon his ongoing stories and do one-off stories instead. In protest, he changed his credit to SFX Englehart, because all he provided were the sound effects. Thankfully, Englehart got to finish his Kree/Skrull War story before he left the book. He wasn’t as lucky with West Coast Avengers and Fantastic Four.

The missing issues weren’t anything special. One was about an alien dragon that turned out to be peaceful. The other one was about a living computer.

Whatever Happened to Henri Duval?

Comics creators, especially at the big companies, are believers in “reduce, reuse, recycle.” And that's good news for the characters they create! If they have any claim to fame as part of the companies’ history, then even if they die--or, worse, fail to sell comics--there’s always a decent chance someone will bring them back someday.

Except, it seems, if they’re Henri Duval.
