I shouldn’t be so mad Gruenwald is dusting off the Squadron Supreme again. He clearly cared for them a lot.

The main plot is about Quasar fighting sentient Iron Man armour left over from Secret Wars. I don’t care about that, so here’s Quasar meeting the New Mutants (or what remains of them).

"I just used Stan, and only Stan, as my template--though I wanted a more laconic, more Batman-esque and mysterious character to Stan’s friendly and gregarious monarch. I didn’t think Panther would talk all that much. I thought Batman talked too much (and maybe still does, I don’t actively read comics anymore); like all that yakking he does explaining his motives in the final moments of The Dark Knight; it was a violation of his character to stand there yammering. Not Batman." - Christopher J. Priest

"People were mad at me when we did this thing where he joined the Avengers to spy on them. I couldn’t figure out why he joined the Avengers, and the only thing that made any logical sense to me was to find out whether these people were a threat. Once he was comfortable they weren’t a threat, he felt OK helping them out from time to time. But his number one responsibility was Wakanda. You got Aquaman in the Justice League. You had Namor in the Avengers. None of that ever made any sense. These people have obligations that are larger than America or whatever the Avengers and Justice League are up to. I don’t have any particular agenda or loyalty beyond the eccentricities of the character and building logically from that." - Christopher J. Priest

'Honestly, the initial impetus came from Dan DiDio, who called one day and said, "I'd like to see you take on these characters." This was not a title that I'd even been thinking of, because the iconic Bwa-ha-ha JLI are a bit beyond the kind of material I've usually written. But doing something you haven't done before is always part of the allure, part of the challenge.' - Ron Marz

"These issues can't sprawl and become exercises in nostalgia. You have to get in, tell your story, and get out. In the age of decompressed storytelling, I think it's refreshing to have two months of tight, character-focused issues." - Ron Marz

In reply from a request from [personal profile] werehawk , I've done some digging through my longboxes, the local library and the invaluable resources at tfwiki to produce this profile of one of more interesting humans to interact with the Transformers in many, many years...

The fact that she appears to be wearing nothing more than a layer of shredded tinfoil should not lead one to underestimate Josie Beller, better known as...

Another of my favorite issues from the Bloodlines event.

In a bit of a confusing event this issue was less about the heroes fighting off a Parasite (or really at all) and more about what happens when you make two New Bloods at the same time one good and one bad, but with another twist.

18 pages of a 56 page story.

Some odd art in the story and fairly uneven but I can't say I disliked it.

So, in response to this thread and subsequent posts by [personal profile] benicio127 on Jason Todd and [personal profile] icon_uk on Dick Grayson, I thought I'd add a few scans of Tim Drake for comparison purposes along with a couple more of Jason. I hope they don't mind me butting in.

Ouch, these butt puns are getting worse and worse! :P )

Now co-starring Jubilee )

Now here are some Jason scans. Onyx is also in them.
