You can tell how little I care for Infinity Nonsense when I am actually looking forward to the return of Cap'n Reptyl.

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.

Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.

Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.

It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.

The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me.

Another week I am tempted to put up a video clip of sun dappled fields with a babbling brook and maybe a scenic woodland creature or two because the rest is... well... yeah.... THAT.

However, let us acknowledge Bishop Mariann Budde's heartfelt and articulate plea to POTUS 47 et al to remember the importance of mercy. A plea which was either ignored, or not understood, by the target audience. The dubious theological loops some evangelical groups went into to try and discredit such a simple statement of a basic, important, virtue has been fascinating, if depressing.

Yesterday was the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and the memorial service was powerful indeed.

On a desperately needed lighter note, it's the fortieth anniversary of Tetris being released. So let's hear your favourite old school/retro video game! :)

When we have comic book readers coming into stores today, this younger generation, they're rebellious. They've seen a system that in some way — in a lot of ways — failed them. Between the economy and COVID, they've really had the shit thrown at them, and they're rebelling and trying to find a better way. I think Wonder Woman can represent that energy that they're bringing, that the modern comic book reader is into. -- Tom King
