Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.
The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.
The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than me. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.
Though, amidst tariffs being imposed on islands populated only by penguins (Soemone clearly prayed to the Muse of Memes really hard, and it paid off big time) the peaceful protests across the US at the weekend, were some reassurance that good people are still out there
I do feel I have to mention that scientists, clearly thinking the world isn't heading into chaos fast enough, have gone and genetically tweaked a grey wolf's genes to mimic the properties of the long extinct megafauna known, not dramatically at all, as the "Dire Wolf" and created three puppies. (So, they have not actually "brought them back from extinction" despite the media hyperbole)
Val Kilmer, who played characters as varied as Bruce Wayne/Batman in "Batman Forever", Madmartigan in "Willow", Nick Rivers in "Top Secret" (a personal favourite), Doc Holliday in "Tombstone" and Jim Morrison in "The Doors" passed away at the age of 65.
Disney+ is releasing a documentary about the making of "A Goofy Movie" to celebrate it's 30th Anniversary (and also did a great little mini clip reuniting Bill Farmer and Jason Marsden)
Doctor Who starts a new season this Saturday, and the Doctor and new companion Belinda seem to be getting... a little sidetracked :).

I literally had a conversation with Jim Lee yesterday, and he was talking about how one of the things he really appreciated about The Other History is that in some ways it implicitly - if not explicitly - acknowledges that some elements of storytelling have not aged well. And rather than hiding from it or burying it, you acknowledge it. And I do think that's a lot like life: a person who matures looks back on their life and can say, "I wish I had done this differently.
