I just loved seeing her come together. Si did great work in conceptualizing and defining this abusive void of a parasite and then Jamie McKelvie came along to give another instant-classic Jamie McKelvie design (the negative space heart is some next-level stuff). Superhero comics are always in need of great new villains, so I was delighted to see her hit so hard, and delighted to get a chance to play with her. -- Kieron Gillen

He would’ve been out there fighting Orchis very publicly. So he could be out in that desert in the White Hot Room trying to help make a society run with no resources. But the other option is he’s dead. And that’s a bummer. So let’s pretend he’s in the White Hot Room, and I know you want him to be on panel in the White Hot Room, but trust me, he’s like, just a little to the left and he’s doing very important things. At the most, Krakoa has gray elements. When Jon made this stuff, he wanted people to talk about it. When I was writing Judgment Day, I wanted people to have takes. I didn't want everyone to go, "Yeah, I completely agree with the guy with the thumb." I want to hear people go, "Bullshit, that guy should have passed" or "She should have failed" because that's the point. The point is to be an active reader and question. -- Kieron Gillen
