Parted from his ol' buddy, ol' tree Groot, Rocket Raccoon has made the smart choice and teamed up with an adorable robot. For some strange reason, I'm sure its voice sounds just like the Iron Giant's...

While the Guardians of the Galaxy recently relaunched with a new look and creative team, with little connection to the previous, there has been published an issue - a one-shot - featuring the team as Al Ewing left them.



Only... don't get your hopes up. Yes, those are the character designs, but the line-up is the movie cast (plus Nova). No Hercules, no Marvel Boy, no Moondragon or Phyla. It's more of an inventory story than any sort of tribute to that era of the team.

As with so many Marvel heroes recently, the Guardians of the Galaxy have been AWOL for a while in-universe. Now they're back! And a whole bunch more cowboy-y. Also (not in the scans here), Nebula calls Star-Lord 'flesh friend'.
