'I was told that Deadshot, Harley [Quinn] and [Captain] Boomerang were the core, and I had to use them. Apart from them, I was told I could have anyone I wanted out of the usual roster of the Suicide Squad. So we went through a few conversations and a few suggestions, a few characters were not back and it came together. No-one said, “you have to do the movie line-up” but we did talk about it and thought it might be a good idea.' - Rob Williams

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.

This will be the last Off Topic Tuesday before the Christmas celebrations for those who celebrate it. Out of genuine curiosity, what constitutes the holiday meal where you're from?

Good news has not been easy to find this week, with tragedy in Berlin, the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Turkey and the ongoing nightmare which is the situation in Syria.

A new cancer treatment has been described as "transformative" in testing. The initial testing has been on prostate cancer (the most prevalent form of cancer amongst men), but the BBC Radio interview this morning it was mentioned it may well be suitable for use in other solid organ forms of cancer; liver, kidney and even breast.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is putting forward proposals to see if Scotland can remain in the Single Market even after Brexit.

Trump appears to have won the Electoral College vote... huzzah? (I have to ask as an outsider, where HAVe the Democrats been since the election announcement? Shouldn't there be some concerted attempt to mount an opposition (especially in light of the Russian hacking situation that both the CIA and FBI agree on having happened), because if there has been, I can't say I've noticed it)

Rogue One: A Star Wars story had a phenomenal first weekend (please, no plot spoilers in the replies below, let's be fair to those where it hasn't opened yet, or who haven't been able to see it).

Peter Capaldi has a nice, and very diplomatic, reply on hearing that Prime Minister Theresa May enjoys the Doctor Who Christmas Specials

Late addition, for those wanting something Christmas-y, here's Neil Gaiman reading Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol" using the annotated version that Dickens used for public performances.

For those travelling over the festive period, stay safe, for those staying where they are... well, you stay safe too!

Well, now they've released a new trailer with about an atom-sized bit of plot, as well as a cameo from their version of Jughead.

He hadn't been a button man before that, though.

He told this to a psychiatrist whose door he'd knocked on.

Bandaging up his bleeding hand, he started his story with " I can't stop killing, doc. "

He had an explanation for that. )
