I think it's a continuation of a trend that's been going for a long time, that you can fit Fraction/Aja's Hawkeye into, and King/Walta's Vision into, and Ahmed/Ward on Black Bolt... this use of these very archetypal super-characters to say something quite personal and introspective. -- Al Ewing

"That was another thing I was happy to get rid of: Albinos always being the creepy assassin. I read an article about how there are no lead albino hero or characters. So as we're talking about representation in comics and media, then there seems to be a good one to fix. I was happy to course correct as much as we can. Pearl's a very unique person; no else has this." -- Brian Michael Bendis

"What would you do if you woke up tomorrow with amazing and fantastic powers far beyond that of a mere mortal? I'd become a star football player, a famous boxer, or the world's fastest pizza delivery guy. I know this much for sure, there's NO WAY I would waste my time saving lives, helping people, and devoting all my time to the well being of others, unless there was something in it for me... and neither would these guys."

"When I was a little kid, my mom used to drop me off at the YMCA to be babysat while she was at work. So naturally I would just sneak away down to the comic book store across the street. The store was called JT's comics in Garland, Texas, and it was there I first met Venom. And it was ALSO there that I read the scariest comic book I'd ever read. It was called Carnage: Mind Bomb (written by Warren Ellis with art by the incomparable Kyle Hotz!) and boy, oh boy, if you haven't read it, make sure you get thee to a comic book store and check it out. But read it with the lights on, because it will mess you up, man. It is brutal. And insane. And brilliant. It was there that the character of Carnage bloomed for me as a fan. He's been my favorite bad guy ever since, and to be able to write him is such a huge treat. And to my utter delight, KYLE HOTZ has come back to Carnage to give us our cover!! How's that for full circle! I am a very lucky Venomaniac.” -- Donny Cates

"An Army pilot confronts a supernatural horror in this thriller in the tradition of Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness and Coppola's Apocalypse Now! Hannah Vance believes her faith in God can survive anything. But when her helicopter is shot down behind enemy lines, she will fight and kill on an ever-more-savage battlefield, desperate for a way home. On the horizon, an evil waits for her--and freedom, of a sort."
