And so we just wanted to do something that made it look very different and Liam [Sharp] went back to a style when I first saw Liam's work -- I think it was in 2000 A.D.; it's kind of like a European album or a story in Heavy Metal. So it's something I've seen before but something we certainly haven't seen in Green Lantern. I think it elevates the issue, it actually makes it a very different kind of issue and it was our intention to keep switching up the styles and trying new things. -- Grant Morrison

Mikiyo Tsuda – Child’s Play – a Neon Genesis Evangelion Doujinshi

This time I wanted to focus on author rather than the comic. Mikiyo Tsuda for over twenty years has co-authored various manga with Eiki Eiki. The two women are inseparable. They have written shoujo (manga for girls, usually with M/F romance), BL (M/M manga), yuri (F/F manga), as well as manga dealing with transgender and crossdressing characters (her first manga was a somewhat fantastic story about a transgender girl). In Western fandoms, their works are disliked due to androgynous character designs, said crossdressing themes and heavy reliance on neko/tachi stereotypes regardless of the gender of characters. The doujinshi in question is a long love scene between Shinji and Kaworu I chose to highlight a romantic trope frequently happening in manga. Four pages out of twenty, translated by Arigatomina.
