So I am not sure but I kinda have issue with the's "both sides" argument, especially the recent Lava Moat arc, also felt reactionary.
I mean Oliver seems rather progressive type and anti-authoritarian, not to mention that he's a German who should know better.

Comments seem to be very ignorant sounding even if they aren't Trump supporters. With the recent Capitol Hill issue, my tired nature with fake centrists--and people who believe them because they don't look like Trump or "establishment"--especially since I spend time in the gaming community and those types seem to be common. Let's not mention South Park, which also shared his "political opinions".
I know both sides unwilling to talk, echo chamber (almost got into anti-SJW crowd before spending time here realize how much of a shill they are), and political discourse are serious issues, but no one is making a critique on being moderate...at least making a facade.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Web-Comic Week, our most prolific event in quite some time. I saw some old favourites, a couple I'd heard about but never looked at, and many I'd never heard of before.

There were a couple I wanted to post from, but I either couldn't work out how to post them properly, or the author requests that they are not posted elsewhere, which is an absolutely fair and proper thing for an author to ask. But I would feel bad if they didn't get a bit of a mention here.

Check, Please! by Nkozi Uzaku, a series about a "hockey and friendship and bros and trying to find yourself during the best 4 years of your life. Do not let the "bros" bit put you off because dammit these characters are amongst the most delightful and engaging you will ever meet (Seriously, if I ever have someone as adorable as Eric "former Georgia junior figure skating champion, vlogger extraordinaire, and amateur pâtissier" Bittle in my life I will count myself truly blessed).

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman (also a novelist), a beautifully observed slice of life story about, in the author's words; "love, friendship, loyalty, life, time, and mental illness. It explores, among other things, the blossoming relationship between Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring, two boys at a British all-boys grammar school."

Both of these now have print versions available too, and I can heartily recommend both. And anyone who knows my general opinion of team sports will know exactly how good it has to be for me to recommend an ice-hockey based web-comic!

Face All Red by EM Caroll, this horror comic is quite well known already, but in case someone has missed it. And you should definitely check out their other stories.

Behind you! by Brian Coldrick is another creepy/horror series. Each panel tell's it's own story (ranging form unsettling to terrifying) and uses the gif format to tell it in a way unique to the medium of web-comics. It's like Charle's Addams with a touch of the Clive Barker to it.

And finally for now, Moth Girl, another lgbt themed series written and drawn by a couple of friends of mine; stem-cell and nobiliorpomis.

So, whilst we always welcome web-comic posts, are there any you'd just like to promote, or wanted to include but ? If so, please post links to them in the replies to this post. Let's end the week with a flurry of recommendations!

Gone with the Blastwave is a black comedy focusing on two soldiers fighting a meaningless and all-consuming war in the desiccated remains of an irradiated, bombed-out wasteland of a city. Seeing how Veterans Day commemorates the lives lost in a similarly needless, seemingly never-ending tragedy, I thought this would be fitting.

I mean, who would have noticed another madman round here? )

The Meek is a fantasy-drama adventure weaving together multiple characters and narratives dealing with themes of loss, grief, corruption, betrayal and judgement. Since the site was launched in 2009, the series has received critical acclaim from numerous outlets (The A.V. Club listed The Meek as one of their picks for the best comic of 2016).

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth. )

Hark! A Vagrant, by Kate Beaton of Nova Scotia, Canada, ran from 2006 to around 2016. (Beaton officially declared the comic over last month, due to ongoing book writing-and-drawing commitments, but the archives will remain online.) Beginning as a casual LiveJournal hobby, the sleeper-hit webcomic went on to satirize and teach history (in which Beaton has a graduate degree), and also to cover English literature, Canadian society, personal childhood memories, and self-described "nonsense comics."

Ten years ago, Scans_Daily was first treated to the adventures of "Batman and Sons", by the artist known as The Black Cat. Sort of inspired by Tiny Titans, but going in it's own awesome directions very quickly, it's the story of Batman raising three Robin's and a Batman Beyond at the same time, and I realised that newer members of the board might not be familiar with them, and frankly, every Bat-Family fan should.

JL8 (formerly Little League) is a webcomic series by Yale Stewart featuring versions of the Justice League as young children done in the style of newspaper strips. It focuses on adorableness, character development, and in some recent arcs, a surprising amount of drama.

Edison Rex is a former digital-first comic turned webcomic by Chris Roberson and Dennis Culver. It centers around Edison Rex, a Lex Luthor expy who discovers that his greatest enemy Valiant is a sleeper agent, which leads to Valiant destroying himself rather than destroy humanity, leaving Edison to take his place as Earth's protector.

Harbourmaster follows Bretnon Falstoph Perius Tallifens Monteblanc LVII ("Tal" for everyday use), who took an administrative job on a distant colony world mostly to get his younger sister away from the toxic culture of their home planet. His employers had completely different and highly secret motives for hiring him.

Four pages from chapter 21, where Tal agonises over a holiday speech he has to make.

And nobody else helps at all. )

A vampire asks a human if she has the dress she is holding in blood red.

Eerie Cuties was a slice-of-life webcomic focusing on vampire sisters Layla and Nina Delacroix as they attended a secret school for monsters like themselves, making new friends along the way while dealing with whatever new wacky scenario life throws at them (think Archie meets Monster High). That might not necessarily be the best webcomic out there, but that's one that holds a special place in my heart for introducing me to the works of Gisèle Lagacé and being a light in a dark point of my life. With permission from Ms. Lagacé, 7 pages below the cut. Mild warning for partial nudity.

Paul Kirchner's series "The Bus", is a series of completely unconnected existentially surreal comic strips. They are united only by the fact they all feature a bus.

Stand Still, Stay Silent by Minna Sundberg is a Nordic post-apocalyptic webcomic. Ninety years after a mysterious disease destroyed the world as we know it, a small exploration party is sent out to gather valuable loot useful information from the ruins of the old civilization.

LADY SPECTRA & SPARKY is my attempt at distilling everything I love about Silver/Bronze Age superhero comics (while trying to fix the things I find problematic, such as the frequent sexism).

Science teacher Paula Carson is secretly Lady Spectra, a crusading superhero who uses high-tech laser weapons in her battle against evil. Her 12-year-old daughter Jill is Sparky, her wisecracking sidekick. With the help of their police contact, Lt. Bernie Kominsky, they battle the crazed and colorful villains who plague Apollo City.

LS&S started out as a self-published fanzine back in 1991, and moved to the web in 2008. With permission of the copyright holder (that'd be me), here's the first 13 pages of a recent story arc:

Hey all, you guys know me, long time poster first time full contributer. I figured since its Webcomic week (And I need something to distract me from election night). I would introduce you guys to one of my favorite current webcomics.

Normally, I go for either Super hero webcomics or Fantasy (In particular Based on DnD) webcomics. There are plenty of the latter to choose from: Yet another Fantasy Gamer Webcomic, Order of the Stick, Goblins, but I want to share a relative newcomer to the genre: Marblegate

A House Divided

Added later: These days, it seems to update more regularly on Tapas.

One day, with no prior warning, Henrietta Achilles is whisked out of her orphanage to the town of Malrenard, where her uncle used to live. At least that's what the town officials claim.

Henrietta is sceptic, though. )

Decided that of the many webcomics I'd love to share, the latest one to be added to my check-out list - and one of the MOST DAMN GORGEOUS, LIKE WOW - is the one I'll start with.

Sleepless Domain
isn't my absolute favorite webcomic - that would be Order of the Stick. But, everyone's already heard of that, so let's highlight something that deserves some exposure.

The website will tell you "Sleepless Domain is a comic about an isolated city in the middle of a dangerous world filled with monsters. During the day, the city is perfectly safe. At night, however, the populace locks themselves inside as the city streets fill with monsters. The only ones who can combat these creatures are very special girls with the power to transform into Magical Girls!"

This is technically true, but also misleading. Sleepless Domain's real story is about grief, survivor's guilt, and resilience.

After the cut, I spoil the big twist that sets up the entire comic, so if you're already interested, go read the whole thing.
