When J'onn met Kal

Most people seem to forget than not only is the Martian Manhunter one of Earth's most powerful heroes, he's also one of the oldest. Biologically as well as chronologically J'onn is thousands of years old, and has met pretty much every major hero in the DCU at some point or another. This was briefly explored in the Revelations arc from issue 20 to 23 of his series, written by John Ostrander.

Jon Juan - The Super-Lover (Part 1 of 3)

After Jerry Siegel got screwed out of the profits he should have rightfully earned from Superman's success, he tried several times to create something that would be just as successful, something that he would own this time around. Unfortunately, it never really worked out this way - but that's a whole other really, really sad story.

What I am about show you may well be one of the most bizarre, WTF-worthy thing Jerry Siegel ever wrote - and I've read his run on Mighty Crusaders. Meet Jon Juan - the Super-Lover.



The comic opens with a long intro that shows why Jon Juan was totally the coolest character in, like, ever:

First of all, this is my first time posting here, so if there is anything that I have to fix, let me know.

Anyway, this is a page from the Booster Gold #40 preview. What I particularly find interesting is that Giffen and DeMatteis keep trying to give an exact age to the characters. It has already appeared when it was indicated that Max's mom, Naomi, was a nurse during WWII and that in a few months she would get married to Maxwell Lord III. This gives us the idea that Max could be 50+ years old.

Earlier I posted scans of the Martian Mahunter's first encounter with Superman. Now it's Batman's turn. Don't worry, he wasn't disguised as Bruce's nanny or something. Theirs is more of a professional acquaintance.
