After a successful first miniseries, Archaia have started a second Fraggle Rock miniseries.

I always had a soft spot for that most indecisive of Fraggles, Wembley, and the first story of the first issue "Wembley and the Great Dream-Capade" is basically about a problem he's having.... He's not dreaming... well, he is, but he's dreaming about nothing... literally nothing, dark, empty nothing...

This is not a good thing for a Fraggle, who LOVE their dreams... and it also means that Wembley hasn't slept properly in days

Let's put our heads together and sort it out... )

No, not that Flash. I meant the Flash. No, not that one either. Didn't I say the Flash?

A couple weeks ago I received a pretty great Christmas package from Mitch Ballard, including one commission and a surprise present (I found that incredibly generous). :)

A lot of Robins with and without bondage. )

A few weeks ago, "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" featured the story "The Knights of Tomorrow", which details an imaginary story written by Alfred which postulates what happens when Dick takes over as Batman, and Bruce and Selina Kyle-Wayne's son Damian becomes the new Robin...

It is in fact an amalgam of the current Batman story, and one from a loooooong time before, April 1960 to be precise, Batman 131, which is the first of two stories I know which feature the concept. I'll post the second one soon, and if there are others I'll try and find them.

The story is also notable for yet another "Context is for the weak" panels reflective of a more innocent time and before the meaning-shift of a few words...

He ain't Damian that's for sure... )

I could probably have posted this in awesome new female characters week. It's Amelia Mintz, saboscrivener and love interest of the Eisner winning (Best New Series 2010) Chew.

Chew's a novel series that does different things with story-telling, tells an engaging and unique story, builds up the mythos piece by piece. It's a book that's full of new ideas, though it's got some heavily stylised art choices and standard layouts. There's a strong level of humour in it, though it's not just a funny book. There's also loads of Easter eggs put in the book.

From the blog
Tony Chu is a cop with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. It`s a dirty job, and Tony has to eat terrible things in the name of justice. And if that wasn`t bad enough, the government has figured out Tony Chu`s secret. They have plans for him… whether he likes it or not.
