More Deadpool parody ads
Sep. 8th, 2024 06:52 pmshakaloolooSO there's more than one 'wave' of these things. With no warning of where to find them, or how many there are! The first one was in 'Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance' #6, and the second both 'Immortal Thor' #15 and 'The Ultimates' #4. So, some of these are repeated in different issues? But not every Marvel comic has one.

Fun with Deadpool
Sep. 3rd, 2024 05:56 pmshakaloolooFor some reason, Marvel decided to publish a comic starring Deadpool & Wolverine to coincide with the movie, but rather than as a single issue they spread it piecemeal as backups in various ongoing series. Over eight parts. Given that I did not alter my purchasing habits just to find the whole story, I only got three of the eight parts.
But there were ALSO numerous parody adverts sprinkled through issues - I found only one in an X-Traction branded issue, and another in the first issue of Ultraman X Avengers, so I have NO IDEA how many of them are out there.
Here are the two I have, based on ads that are NOT cake-related, for once. Written by Ryan North.

NS: Deadpool and Wolverine discussion

So this movie came out today… what were your thoughts on it?
Overall I enjoyed it. It feels very much like a love letter to the Fox films, not just the X-Men films but their Marvel output in general. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds both play off each other really well.
