In response to a previous post of mine, [profile] runespoor7  commented that there would be less resistance to the idea that Huntress can out-stealth Batman if Huntress were more frequently depicted as using stealth in general; I replied that there were such examples, and that I would post some. Here are a few from Huntress: Year One:

Someone mentioned this in relation to my last post on Iran's history. Found it, so here it is.

Ditko: Vic the Enforcer (pt 1)

In the mid-60s, after his falling out with Marvel, Steve Ditko returned to Charlton, for whom he'd earlier co-created Captain Atom. In addition to working on that character, Ditko created two new ones who would prove to be among the more enduring of the Charlton heroes, and he featured them in the same book. Carrying the title was Ted Kord, Ditko's successor to the classic Fox Features Hero, but it isn't Ted that brings us here today.

These are from Wonder Woman #4, 1943.

When I was a kid in the 70's, I bought a current issue of Wonder Woman that dealt with these same Mole Men. In fact, the story was almost the same, except without Paula von Gunther. And there's another Golden Age story I shared with y'all recently where Wonder Woman dealt with the Seal Men. In a nutshell, WW kept encountering semi-animalistic men who cruelly oppressed normal-looking human women until the Amazing Amazon showed up. Oh, if only the symbolism were less subtle!

Ive always wanted to contribute something to this community since back when were were still in LJ.

Better late than never, right? First time posting, so please tell me if Im doing it wrong... because Im not sure how to work the LJ cut.

So this is what I will be sharing, my favorite arc of Swamp Thing under Allan Moore starting with issue #46 “Revelations” collected in Swamp Thing Vol. 4 "Murder of Crows"

So, in my very first post I mentioned that I fell in love with the works of Naoki Urasawa. To this point, however, I've only posted scans of one particular series, Monster. So how can I demonstrate this wasn't a fluke? Let's dive into another series.

Some of you might remember when I posted a few strips from the campus newspaper. I recently picked up a summer edition of the paper to find that some strips had been cut, but Pex and Solly managed to make it through. In light of that, I bring you Pex and Solly, a few perfect moments.

The best part being that all the Animals were literally taken right from the Book as Kirby drew them.

In [insanejournal.com profile] icon_uk's words:
"ONE PERFECT MOMENT"

A celebration of those moments which just define a character.

Here's your chance to post the scene which, to you, summarises what makes a particular character work!

Here are my suggested guidelines.
- It could be a single panel, it could be a scene, but the emphasis should be on "moment", so let's say.... two pages absolute maximum, and they have to be from the same issue of a title.
- No fanfic, it has to be canon from a published title. (Sadly that precludes the Black Cat's output :( )
- It can be a hero, villain, supporting character or whatever. They've all had magnificent moments.
- And it doesn't have to be from superhero comics of course, the perfect Little Nemo moment, the scene with the Cryptkeeper which gave you PROPER nightmares, the Bash Street Kids summarised in a single panel, or whatever.
- And of course, we can have multiple moments for the same character.”

If I've made a mistake, if you think a character's name should be altered, if you'd like to provide an issue number for a scan, please let me know.

Mods, I hope posting this is okay, if it's not I'll remove it at once.

Some random X-Files-ness, just for the heck of it! This is from the cover...

It was pointed out in an earlier thread (the Guardians of the Galaxy preview pages?) that the new issue of Lockjaw & the Pet Avengers hasn't gotten any love here yet. I got the ish today, and am here with 4 scans to remedy that sad, sad situation.

As you may recall from #1, Lockjaw was alerted to the menace of the Infinity Gems, found the Mind Gem, and recruited Throg the Frog of Thunder, Lockheed the Dragon, Redwing the Falcon, and Hairball and his sidekick Ms. Lion to help retrieve the remaining 5. From there they went to the Savage Land and quickly picked up the Time Gem and a new member.

They use the Time Gem to take them to find a third gem lost in the Savage Land...

From the creator of Antique Bakery, Fumi Yoshinaga's latest series: Kinou Nani Tabeta? Or, in English, What Did You Eat Yesterday?

What Did You Eat Yesterday? has everything that Yoshinaga does best, and which we loved so well in Antique Bakery: adorable slice-of-life, cute men, and hardcore food porn. Seriously, when Fumi gets her food geek on, you want to eat the pages. And WDYEY goes into such detail describing the process of making and serving food that you can actually use those scenes as recipes.

Don't read these manga on a diet.

I may include a cooking sequence in a later entry, but for now, let's stick with the cute men!
