Been looking around for this on the past posts, and I don't see it, so I will post it to talk about.
CraveOnline has the info on the major summer event for 2011 for Marvel's merry mutants.

I will not let him divide us.  )

This month marks the return to comics of the CrossGen properties. RUSE was arguably the most critically-acclaimed of their titles, so its not surprising that it's one of the two titles TPB have chosen to begin the relaunch with.

The book made mild internet waves in 2002 when Mark Waid refused a Harvey Award nomination for Best Writer for his work on the title. I don't know if his motivation was ever divulged, but it almost certainly has to do with his conflicts behind the scenes with CrossGen's founder, Mark Alessi. Waid once described working there as the emotional equivalent of being punched in the stomach everyday. (Alessi, by all accounts, was a rich man who believed being a lifelong reader of comics qualified him to publish comics, a task -- again, by all accounts -- he woefully lacked the know-how for.)

Four pages from the new RUSE #1 )

Since I posted pages from the first issue of this miniseries five months ago, I thought I'd post four pages from the end, JLA/the99 #6.

As you may recall, Superman and Wonder Woman, along with several members of the 99, were at the unveiling of a City of the Future when suddenly people in the city (and soon all over the world) began rioting. Other disasters started happening as well, with several people acting out of character.

Sometimes, you have to know the right buttons to push. )

Your thoughts and comments?

So yeah, it's the End of the Big Epic Battle issue, where the Status Quo Will Never Be the Same!, which in Thor-land means it must be Tuesday. Thor broody Odin snarky Loki snotty World Tree fungi nasty boom de yada boom de yada...look a double page spread oh look another double page spread wow these double page spreads make picking just four pages tough boom de yada boom de yada...

But we do get one cryptic page with a beloved minor character.

Words that jangle in your head )

I'm finding that rather ominous myself. Thoughts, Thor fans?
