Today is the Third Sunday of Advent, in several denominations of the Christian Calendar also known as Gaudete Sunday, or "Rejoice Sunday", where the notion is to celebrate the forthcoming Christmas, a little less introspective maundering, a little more "Whoopee! The Messiah is nigh!".
So in the spirit of "Rejoicing over what we might mope about", this post, whilst not the one I originally intended to post today, does seem to be appropriate!

octopedingenueBehold my dance of squee over the first English-licensed manga from my personal yaoi rockstar, Kou Yoneda! These are scans from her breakout hit debut No Touching at All, AKA Doushitemo Furetakunai (どうしても触れたくない). It's elegant, funny, and well-plotted(!) yaoi, and it makes me cry every goddamn time I read it.
The background: Techie Shima is the new employee starting at a computer company, and he wants to keep his personal past private and to not make waves. His taciturn awkwardness catches the attention of gregarious section chief Togawa, whose friendly overtures soon turn to flirtation. Still scarred from the ugly breakup with an emotionally abusive boyfriend/coworker at his last job, Shima is deeply reluctant to start a new office romance. But Togawa is slowly drawing Shima out of his shell through the power of, umm, personal charm.
Mouthwash is a boy's best friend, Togawa.

icon_ukA post on another site jogged my memory about this story, and it is re-posted largely to highlight the pretty Estrada and Giordano art, who draw a damned cute Robin, and a classic Batman and Superman... as well as a very camp villain.

The Bartman Christmas Special

First off, and mostly later on, I am going to post some pages from a special JUMBO sized Christmas issue of Simpsons that I got last year during my trip in Ireland/England.

For the five people on this comm who I haven't already pushed this link on, Tim Fish is doing a Northstar short in Nation-X #2, coming out next month.
Also, Richard Pini reports that the script to the Elfquest movie has been finished. Not much meat there, so here's the movie news timeline.

icon_ukI hardly ever post "Context is for the weak" images, usually because in mine, context is already pretty much spectacularly evident, but these I had to share.
They're from an officially licensed DC colouring book from the 1960's, so I think they might qualify as a comic image, but I may add an image just for the heck of it!
