A reboot of the team post-Infinite Crisis, Justice Society of America has Geoff Johns still on as writer, but a new line-up after One Year Later. The first story arc left me a little cold. It's mostly a jumping-on point kinda storyline, getting the band back together and introducing the new kids that we'll be following on this incarnation of the team. The actual plot is... there are Nazis and they're killing people and the superheroes have to stop them. It's kinda thin. Might just be me, but when the villain with the most characterization is Captain Nazi and that's just because he's shown up in other comics that give him character development... Otherwise, they're just here to back Vandal Savage's play and commit awful atrocities against women and children, which of course they greatly enjoy because they're such bad people.

It makes for a bit of a tonal clash when you're introducing a bunch of fun new characters who are 'joining the family.'

Hi ho, gang! Yes, i'm still alive. I got ill in February and was either in hospital or recovering and not allowed to drive til recently, and so missed the last couple issues of Teen Titans. But! Now I have both the ones I missed and the latest in hand! So I figure i'll do one post on the back issues and a separate post for the new. I have here six pages each from Teen Titans #28 and #29 - sounds like a lot, but there's at least one double-page splash from each ish.

You'll recall that when we left our merry band, the remaining Titans had joined Kid Flash and Solstice in the 31st century, where Bart was apprehended and put on trial. Being in the future enabled Bart to break through his Echo-created "witness protection" personality and become the evil revolutionary Bar Torr again, and submitting to the trial was part of his scheme - with all his world's power brokers gathered to watch him hang, his forces were able to strike at all of them at once, to the Titans' dismay.

You'll recall that during the whole Forever Evil megillah, the Titans got stuck bouncing at random through a whole mess of fractured timelines and Raven was called upon to stitch them together and reunite the group. Doing so landed them in the future in TT #25 where Kid Flash and Solstice watched pre-KF Bar Tor commit his heinous crimes.

In TT #26 Kid Flash recovered his memories and explained it all to the Titans - his parents' deaths at the hands of the Functionary for continuing to worship God, Bar's escape with his little sister, leaving her in an orphanage while he went off to start the Revolution, his turning himself in to Echo when he realized their big strike had killed his sister - and the Titans were horrified.

Now, the Functionary has put Bart in the dock for the Trial of the Century.

Mods inform me that the Teen Titans Annual's release this week means #24 is no longer current, and therefore a little more can be posted. There's not *that* much more of interest we haven't already put up, but there is this page and a quarter or so, with a special guest star cameo.

He's always so much fun. And while the art in this ish did not rock my socks, yon guest star looks terrific!

OK, so the Titans are bouncing randomly around the time stream as a result of Forever Evil. Most of #24 is snippets of those bounces;

superfangirl1 posted 3 pages of Bart's bounce-forward here. I've got about an eighth of one pages and 7/8 of the next to, like the Dude's rug, really tie the whole thing together.

Mods, a quick question w/r/t those pages I said above I wished I could post: Teen Titans Annual #2 comes out next week. With that release will this one no longer be considered "current" & subject to the 4-page limit? (the things that occur to you once the caffeine hits the bloodstream...)
