Who is Interested in a Punisher Week??
Oct. 28th, 2009 04:43 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Greetings True Believers! I've been inspired by SD (As I often am) So I thought I'd test the waters for a Punisher Week. Who wants in?

I was thinking of a theme, there have several posts about Frank's place in the Marvel Universe. So if you can, post Frank/hero/villain interaction or characters thinking or talking about Frank.
I'll start us off, this is a bio about Frank from Secret Wars: From the Files of Nick Fury. It's a short bio about Castle as well as personal notes from Fury about him. (His insights are awesome.) Enjoy!

Sitting at home with H1N1 (no, really), I thought I'd provide some more French bande-dessinée for your enjoyment. Today you're getting a taste of one of my favourite webcomics, Maliki.

Unmasked, by Chris Ware

This was printed in the New Yorker. It's a domestic story, so don't expect explosions or throat punching. Text may be a bit small, but it's also available via the link above, where you can get bigger scans.

one orphaned panel

I'd like to use this panel in a paper, but I need to know where it came from. Can anyone give me a series title or issue? It's time to bust through academia's robot ninja ceiling.

Five quick pages to serve as a teaser, since I'm going to be asleep the rest of today (skipping class -- I'm dead tired) and very busy tomorrow.
First post is here: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/1147965.html
( Sorry to disappoint whoever it was that liked having all three Robins present and getting along. )
5 pages (out of 48, minimum of 11 remaining) from #2.

What follows is (for now) our last look at the ghosts and ghoulies from the second volume of Fuan no Tane.
Most of these stories below are ones that people had requested and that I hadn't ever posted on scans_daily before. Since someone asked, you'll also find that one about the haunted hospital.
In these stories you'll see that ghostly horrors can attack us at any time, and from any direction...

...and at, uh, any angle. Yep, those are ghost feet all right!

This is the first story from the VOICES IN THE DARK anthology, which I've begun translating.
I've had a gloomy, depressing week, so it probably wasn't a good idea to bring you another story by Junji Ito. He's the guy behind UZUMAKI and GYO, so things are almost guaranteed to go disastrously wrong.
To remedy this, I've tried to post only the pages that contain an uplifting story of teenage love. Unfortunately this has meant excising almost every page of the story.

A Kent Family tradition
Oct. 28th, 2009 11:08 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
In the local comic store, in the 50-cent bin, there were quite a few of Chris Claremont's SOVEREIGN SEVENs. There were many lovely bits in them, but this one in issue #23, has implications for a far more famous character...as we see that Clark's adoption might be only part of a Kent family tradition, as Rhian Douglas, also known as Cascade, visits Smallville.
Shall I note that the art is by the magnificent and much-missed Dave Cockrum?
Enjoy.
