thanekosIssue #1'd ended on that mercenary, Slade, meeting whom the warlord Vandar Adg'd sent him after - the boy Alec, somehow brighter than gray in Jarnlund.
Alec was in the custody of Slade's ex-wife Adeline - Slade and Adeline were opposed, a second antagonism atop the one already between them.
That didn't stop Slade from helping Adeline, wounded by associates of Vandar's (whom Slade had helped before breaking away from), and Alec back to the inn they'd been staying at.
Adeline awoke to find her wounds dressed and Slade opposite her.
" What the Hel have you gotten yourself into, Adeline? "
( She answered. )
