icon_ukIt was on 10th July 1980 that a certain new comic book arrived on newsstands from DC, one that would go on to be their best selling title for a number of years. (It didn't arrive in the UK for a couple of months after that, but I DO remember seeing it on the shelves when it did finally arrive)
It was a title that achieved what the X-Men had been doing for Marvel for a few years, a title that combined the idea of young heroes growing up, having adventures, both dramatic and soap opera and GREAT hair!

That means it would have been on the shelves in Feb/March. According to current continuity, Dick's birthday is "the first day of Spring", which would be 20th March, but he's had a few other dates cited as his DOB over the years, so this seems close enough... ish.
So let's celebrate!

icon_ukIf Dick Grayson's Robin in his New Teen Titans era has a flaw (Well he has a few, not physical of course, but character related) , it would be a certain degree of neurosis about himself and his relationships.

icon_ukYou know, I was thinking after my last post on this topic that I had sort of cheated.
Now don't get me wrong, Cypher's powers would be fascinating, and useful, and generally awesome in a quiet sort of a way, but it, like all the powers I was thinking of, were those that would be USEFUL to me in my life - Teleportation would save on travel costs, Telekinesis would just be so functionally useful I don't even know where to start... Another power I had pondered was the ability to split into multiple selves like Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel/Triad/Duplicate Damsel (Good lord, she has more names than selves!). which would also have many uses.. though if I had two jobs I might run into tax issues... but that's overthinking things a bit.
No, I realised that I also had a power I wanted to have for FUN.... flight would be at the top of that list if I didn't have it included in the power I was thinking of... What power is that, well here's a clue (if you have't already read the tags)

Teen Titans #28-29 - Back to the Future
Apr. 23rd, 2014 09:21 pmperletwoHi ho, gang! Yes, i'm still alive. I got ill in February and was either in hospital or recovering and not allowed to drive til recently, and so missed the last couple issues of Teen Titans. But! Now I have both the ones I missed and the latest in hand! So I figure i'll do one post on the back issues and a separate post for the new. I have here six pages each from Teen Titans #28 and #29 - sounds like a lot, but there's at least one double-page splash from each ish.
You'll recall that when we left our merry band, the remaining Titans had joined Kid Flash and Solstice in the 31st century, where Bart was apprehended and put on trial. Being in the future enabled Bart to break through his Echo-created "witness protection" personality and become the evil revolutionary Bar Torr again, and submitting to the trial was part of his scheme - with all his world's power brokers gathered to watch him hang, his forces were able to strike at all of them at once, to the Titans' dismay.
( We now join the battle already in progress )
