I need a reading recommendation

stubbleupdateNow that I'm up to armpits in PS4 Spider-man, I fancy reading some actual Spider-man. So far, I've only read Spider-man loves Mary Jane and the occasional Marvel Adventures, with most of my Spider-knowledge coming from cartoons and general osmosis.
So, I fancy get some bits filled in. Namely, the bits where Gwen stacy is a big deal. ( The scene that she is most famous for doesn't interest me )
and neither does ( her most infamous scene )
I don't want to read ( Ultimate Spider-man ), or ( Spider-Gwen )
( If I want to read the original Gwen Stacy stories, where do I start? )
